18 SKETCH AXONOMETRICS

In three clients, the quotes of Steven Hawking and Florence Nightingale are chosen.

Florence Nightingale
From her quote, I believe she would like to classify people into two many types. One is some people just enjoy the result and the best things in the world, while another one is some people try to achieve their best thing and would like to create new things.Hence, I used flattened area to express “enjoy” because their living is insipid. On the contrast, I used undulation to express “creative”.I will use these two elements to form rhythm in next nine axonometrics.

Steven Hawking
From his quote, I think he may believe that human can do anything, provided that we try to explore the unknown area and have enough time. Therefore, I used “protruding” to express the inspiration of human exploring and used “indentation” to express the unknown area for the human. In the nine axonometrics, I will try to make the contrast between “protruding” and “indentation”.

For the textures, it made me think (Iight to dark) --- > (simple to complex) .

RAMP AND THE IMAGE CAPTURES AND ARCHITECTURE

Electroliquid Aggregation
People in the world are classified mainly as two types: enjoying the result and create better result. For the creating better result group, they can achieve what they want, provided that they have enough time to do.

IMAGE CAPTURES

This is Florence Nightingale's lab. The two shapes of "square" can bring the rhythm to the buildings. Moreover, the two ramps from her labs expressed two different gropus of people in the world. I used different colours of light to point out the two different ways in their lives.

This is the meeting place and the front of Steven Hawking's lab. The cone expressed that the ideas of Hawking and Nightingale can be combined to one point of view. In addition, the ramps from Hawking's lab to meeting place, i put the light under the ramp making the mystery feeling. This environment is like human explore the unkown area. In addition, the texture (line) can enhance the lighting effect.

This is the inside of Hawking's lab. The columns and the floor are made to be“protruding” and “indentation” in contrast. In addition, as Hwaking is a disable, I think there is no point to make the inside structure in complicated. Therefore, I choose a very simple structure for his lab and use ramp instead of stairs. The texture (square) used on the wall can express the logical feeling which is suitable for a scientist.

THE DETAIL OF BUILDINGS

The two ramps are used different colours to express the two different attitudes mentioned by Nightingale. When she walk along the ramp, she can feel the rhythm given by the building's square shape.
By considering Hawking is a disable, I designed the small narrow window for him. It allows him to looking outside without walking outside while he can keep his privacy. Moreover, the horizontal window can make a strong contrast with the vertical texture(line).
This image can clearly show that the simple construction of inside and the small slope of ramp can facilitate for Hawking.
This image can show that I used the the light under the ramp to reflect the light from the wall. It is not only making the mystery feeling, but also can be an alert for Hawking and Nightingale that there is a gap between the ramp and the wall.

The last image can show the balance of the whole building.

ASSIGNMENT - 4 The Final Model with Stairs

The above part is Piccinini's studio. The wall of his studio is used "leaf-like" texture which is formed by curved line completely. This pattern could match his artworks which are usually organic. In addition, the upper part is formed by different irregular rectangles. It is interesting that thier roofs are formed a streamlined shape. Due to the complex pattern of the wall, I chose to use the simple pattern to fill the stair to express the wareness that there is stair.

The middle part is for exhibition of two artists, glass is used as the main material. For the colour of glass, the light one is not be used because the whole place where is like the glasshouse is neccessay to block some sunlight. In addition, with the time changing, the shadow from the triangular glass wall could become a natural pattern and be full of variations in the exhibition place.

The below part is Swallow's studio. The interior and exterior of the wall is also use the "line" pattern. These lines could give an extention feeling in the interior. Moreover, the shape of the below part is "extend" form, which is similar to Swallow's artwork that there is deeper meaning for each artworks.
